It is so fun to be with the kids and do the things with them that really interest me like painting and music and theater, but there is of course another side to their education that you all—especially you sponsors and future sponsors of kids need to know.
I have had a suspicion that our kids are ahead of other schools from anecdotal evidence, but now we have proof. First the superintendent of schools has suggested our top class in third grade skip next year to fifth.
Raisha Moussa had to leave Tamesna because her mother wanted to go back to be with her own mother and the maternity in Ingall to have her baby. She took Raisha out of Tamesna where she was 10th in her class and put her in school in Ingal where she is now top of her class.
Alhousseini Abou had to transfer to Mararraba, the nearest town, where the professor suggested he skip ahead a grade because he was so far ahead of the rest of the class.
When I went to decorate the buildings with the kids—I thought I would need a translator, but they all spoke and understood french.
I am so proud that we are making such a difference in their lives. THEY are proud and confident and I have no doubt will be future leaders in their community and their country.
