Today we received the first patients. There were 284 on the list waiting to be treated. The variety of problems were staggering. From Bhilarzia, to cancer, to malaria, to fistula
Bob installed the new microscope to test for malaria and we had two potential cases. The results tomorrow.
This young girl had gone through three excruciating days of labor and was taken unconscious to the hospital in Agadez. She still appears to be in shock as she does not know that she lost her baby. She has fistula and although we cannot help her here we can refer her to a hospital only three hour drive away where they offer the operation free. This problem can be devastating for a
young woman, but in this case she has the support of two determined aunts and we are optimistic she will be helped. Listening to a healthy baby’s heartbeat.
True dedication you all have at this wonderful clinic– so long held as a dream and now realized.
Greetings from Southern California where it rained about 2 inches last night in Ojai and today at the ranch in Camarillo.
