Glamour packing

August 31, 2010 by Nomad Foundation Leave a Comment

Some people actually pack clothes when they take a trip. Well I not only get to pack my own bags (no clothes of course) but our volunteers bags as well (I must say Dr. Skankey has done yeoman’s duty gathering materials for the medical clinic and packing bags as well–I cannot take all the credit) . The vitamins we packaged at our vitamin packing party have FILLED a suitcase to the limit of 50 pounds. The second bag below is filled with medical supplies Dr. Skankey collected.

Some women might pack face creams to protect their skin from the harsh Sahara–me I get to pack silicone sealant for our solar panel project. I am also carrying in my bag–a solar pump, 2000′ feet drip irrigation hose–fittings, filter, an electric drill gun, vitamins and various medical supplies and cups in which to plant the moringa trees. So we will start with the solar project, continue with famine relief, much of which has been funded by NIGER FOOD RELIEF, a very successful campaign by the Boston University Alumni of the Niger program. Then we will try to set up a test drip irrigation plot in our garden and finish up with the medical mission. It will be a busy trip. Stay tuned…
