Our last stop on our way home to Ojai, was in Ojai, the African version of our hometown. We wanted to deliver the last of our three community microcredit programs. In this season leading up to the big moslem celebration of Tabaski, it is the most profitable time to buy sheep to fatten in order to sell in three months when the price is at its highest for the holiday. We provided microcredit for 25 Wodaabe women in three communities to give them this opportunity. Foudouk, Ojai and Tedbouk. They will repay in three months time after the holiday so the loan can go to someone else.
The work you are doing Leslie is so profound….I am in awe. My thoughts and prayers will continue to be with you even after my niece Courtney is gone (I'm Kim's older sis).
Blessings!!
