Every year we visit our matrones (traditional birth attendants) twice. In summer it is to resupply them with meds and mosquito nets for the rainy season when malaria is rampant. In fall it is to collect their annual reports and re-inforce their training. Because of the dangerous political situation we have not been able to visit since 2023, but our local midwives: Rabi in Tamesna and Assalama in Iferouane continue the work. We hope to go back in Fall of 2026.

I see my friends in these pictures! Having traveled several times to Niger and then to the sands, rocks, and extraordinary sunsets of the Sahara I miss the adventure.
But most importantly I am a witness to the
Village women who searched for ways to help
Each other and their fellow Nigeriens. These
Women found the Nomad Foundation and
Leslie Clark. The education classes are an extraordinary opportunity and in their extreme success have produced statistics
That has brought the government of Niger
To acknowledge the women and the Foundation.
I admire and am in awe of their dedication
To each other and to the children of their
Villages.
Thank you Leslie and all that support this most worthy cause!!
