Millet is purchased and sitting in the warehouse. A list from the two poorest communities compiled: 203 from Abalen, 147 from Toudou, managing committees of local residents established so the families who deserve the millet will get it and no false claims honored.
Then we wait. The government forbids us to distribute. They want to co-ordinate efforts of the agencies who are there to help. A wise idea if there were any evidence of co-ordination. I thought we could zip in and get something done, but you all were so generous we got bigger than most of the other aid. And so we had to leave to open the clinic as announced and to distribute the promised food to Tiguiwit and the Agadez food sits waiting for the government to do something.
