Nomadgal Jewelry — Nov.29 & Dec. 2-13

November 7, 2015 by leslieclark 2 Comments

I have been making a lot of jewelry while I’m here.  The jewelers come to my house—grand central– and I place orders, buy beads at the market and string them.  I suppose it is more elegant to say I design them.  With our jewelry gala coming up Nov. 29 and having a booth at Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas for cowboy Christmas Dec. 3-12, I have to stock up.
Today Aghali from Iferouane, another of our favorite communities who are very industrious and artistic, brought a big order of amulets to make necklaces and earrings made with stones I had brought him and a wonderful selection of copper, brass, nickel, silver and other jewelry supplies kindly donated by Linda Taylor.  They had lots to work with and we invented a new look.
Everything is also available online–the newest will be posted when I get back Nov. 15.  nomadgal.com

Of course I couldn’t do it without the help of my new puppy Djado who decided to get into my suitcase full of jewelry making supplies.

Leslie, two Nordhoff students have created a community sewing project for Days For Girls International. Your comment box does not allow me to post the link. I curious to know if this project could benefit the girls in the communities that you serve. Please contact me.
