Party time again

February 17, 2010 by Nomad Foundation 1 Comment

During an almost three year rebellion all the nomadic festivals have been on hold. But the festival of the Air was held this year from Feb. 14-16. It is usually held in Iferouane, but uncertainty about security brought it to Arharous–closer to Agadez. Not too many tourists attended but some journalists and people interested in recouping tourism in Niger–namely the reps of the air charter company that operates the Paris-Agadez direct charter–Pointe Afrique. And tons of nomads–everyone is hopeful next year things will be back to normal. It was a great relaxing time before we set off on the work of the medical mission and tons of inspiration for new paintings.

Ahhh Party time in the Sahara–I remember Amandas' and my party time with the Woodabee and the Tuareg–great times and great music!
