After finishing our work at the clinic we went for a walk in a beautiful canyon, full of rock art and ended up in a “forest” of huge petrified trees. The clinic is as ready as its going to get for the opening so we went to Ingall to visit the women’s textile co-operative started a few months ago.
Most of the women were gone trying to sell their wares. I bought a few outfits and gave them cash. Apparently every one that wants to buy does it on credit and they have a lot of trouble collecting. hmm… there may need to be some rethinking about their sales techniques…but their meager sales are not for lack of trying. One has gone all the way to Tamanrasset in Algeria to try to sell their wares another to Azelik some 6 hours away. Tuareg, even the women stay nomadic at heart even if they live in town.
We went by Imalole and Tedbouk where we support schools but the populations are all in
migration. It is the season.
