I have moved on to Mali to buy new things for the gallery and to check on a project we started last year: an artisans co-operative at Fatouma. We built them a hangar and the use it to work. They have done a wonderful job with a very small budget. Now we want to take the next step to encourage their industious work. We will purchase a small parcel of land on the main road to be owned by the association. Here they will work and sell their wares to the tourists who pass en route to Timbuktu. Charlene Pidgeon, working through Nomad, has raised enough money for this project through her own efforts. She will manage this project.
